Description

Create vibrant and beautiful suncatchers using blue crayons and other colors for a delightful art project with kids.


Ingredients

  • Blue crayons (and other colors, if desired)
  • Wax paper or transparency sheets
  • Iron
  • Parchment paper
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch (optional)
  • String or ribbon for hanging

Instructions

  1. Prep the work area by laying down newspaper or a protective mat.
  2. Shave the crayons into small, fine pieces using a pencil sharpener or knife.
  3. Layer the materials by placing a piece of wax paper on the work surface and sprinkling crayon shavings.
  4. Cover with another sheet of wax paper and parchment paper, then press with an iron set to low for a few seconds.
  5. Once cooled, carefully peel back the layers and cut into desired shapes.
  6. Thread a string or ribbon through the hole and hang the suncatcher in a sunny window.
