Description
Create stunning blue crayon suncatchers that brighten any window with vibrant colors and a sense of accomplishment.
Ingredients
- Blue crayons (various shades)
- Wax paper
- An iron
- Parchment paper
- Scissors
- String or ribbon (for hanging)
- A flat iron-safe surface (like a cutting board)
Instructions
- Gather your materials: Ensure a clean, flat workspace. Have all your materials at hand.
- Set the iron: Preheat your iron on a low setting without steam.
- Peel the crayons: Remove the wrappers from the blue crayons and break them into small pieces (about 1-inch chunks).
- Arrange the crayons: Lay them out on a piece of wax paper, placing them in a desired pattern or mix them randomly for a marbled effect.
- Cover with parchment paper: Place a piece of parchment paper over the arranged crayons to protect your iron.
- Iron the crayons: Gently press the iron on the parchment paper for about 30 seconds. Move the iron in circular motions to evenly melt the crayons. Watch the colors blend together!
- Remove from heat: Once melted, carefully peel away the parchment paper. Allow the melted crayon to cool and harden for a few minutes.
- Cut out the suncatcher: Use scissors to cut the wax paper into your desired shape.
- Add hanging features: Attach a string or ribbon to the top for hanging.
Notes
Consider adding yellows or greens for a unique twist. Use cookie cutters for fun shapes.
