Description

A delightful craft project using blue crayon shavings to create beautiful flower-shaped suncatchers that brighten any window.

Ingredients

  • Blue crayons (various shades)
  • Wax paper or parchment paper
  • An iron
  • A baking sheet
  • Flower-shaped cookie cutter (optional)
  • Scissors
  • String or fishing line for hanging
  • An old towel or cloth

Instructions

  1. Peel and shave the blue crayons, cutting them into small pieces.
  2. Layer a sheet of wax paper on a baking sheet and scatter the crayon shavings onto the center.
  3. Place another sheet of wax paper on top and cover with a towel for protection.
  4. Set the iron to a low setting and gently press it on the towel for about 15-30 seconds to melt the crayon pieces.
  5. Allow to cool for a minute or two before removing the top layer of wax paper.
  6. Using the cookie cutter or scissors, cut out flower shapes from the melted crayon sheet.
  7. Carefully punch a small hole at the top of each flower for hanging.
  8. Thread string or fishing line through the holes and hang your suncatchers where they can catch the sunlight.

Notes

Experiment with various colors and shapes to create unique designs. Always use a low iron setting to prevent damage.
