Description
Create delightful Black Cat Truffles that perfectly capture the essence of Halloween with rich chocolate flavor and spooky appeal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips (or dairy-free chips)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (or coconut cream for vegan)
- 1/4 cup black cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- Pinch of salt
- Optional toppings: cacao nibs, sprinkles, or chopped nuts
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it’s steaming but not boiling. Pour the hot cream over the dark chocolate chips in a bowl. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes to melt.
- Add the black cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the melted chocolate. Stir gently until fully combined and smooth.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 60-120 minutes, or until the mixture is firm.
- Once chilled, use a small cookie scoop or your hands to shape the ganache into balls. Roll the balls in your choice of powdered sugar or cacao nibs for an extra touch.
- Place each truffle in a mini cupcake liner for a festive presentation.
Notes
Try adding custom fillings or swapping coatings for variety. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
