Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons of corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of glycerin
  • 1 cup of cornstarch
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Wax paper or parchment paper

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of corn syrup, and 2 tablespoons of glycerin. Stir well until mixed. Heat the mixture over medium heat.
  2. Once heated, gradually add 1 cup of cornstarch while stirring continuously until thick and smooth.
  3. Add food coloring if desired, stirring until evenly distributed.
  4. Remove from heat, lay wax paper or parchment paper on a flat surface. Pour the mixture into cookie cutters or molds.
  5. Allow the suncatchers to dry for several hours or overnight until completely hardened.
  6. Once dry, remove the suncatchers from molds and punch a hole for hanging if desired.

Notes

Experiment with different shapes and natural dyes. Avoid prolonged outdoor exposure to extend the suncatchers’ lifespan.
