Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of water
- 2 tablespoons of corn syrup
- 2 tablespoons of glycerin
- 1 cup of cornstarch
- Food coloring (optional)
- Wax paper or parchment paper
- Cookie cutters or molds
- A shallow tray or plate
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of corn syrup, and 2 tablespoons of glycerin. Stir well until mixed. Heat the mixture over medium heat.
- Once heated, gradually add 1 cup of cornstarch while stirring continuously until thick and smooth.
- Add food coloring if desired, stirring until evenly distributed.
- Remove from heat, lay wax paper or parchment paper on a flat surface. Pour the mixture into cookie cutters or molds.
- Allow the suncatchers to dry for several hours or overnight until completely hardened.
- Once dry, remove the suncatchers from molds and punch a hole for hanging if desired.
Notes
Experiment with different shapes and natural dyes. Avoid prolonged outdoor exposure to extend the suncatchers’ lifespan.
