- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon glycerin
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Wax paper
- Cookie cutters or templates
- A heat source (stovetop)
- Spoon for stirring
- Cooking spray (optional for easy removal)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine water, glycerin, and cornstarch. Stir until the cornstarch dissolves.
- Place the saucepan on low heat and continuously stir the mixture as it warms up until it thickens.
- Once thickened, remove from heat, divide into bowls, and add food coloring. Stir until colors are evenly distributed.
- Place wax paper on a flat surface. Use cookie cutters or pour colored mixtures into desired shapes on the wax paper.
- Allow the suncatchers to dry for at least 24 hours. Peel them off the wax paper once fully dried.
- Hang your suncatchers by a window using string or tape to see the colorful reflections.
Notes
For various designs, try using different cookie cutters, mixing colors, or embedding dried flowers or glitter.
