Description

Create eco-friendly bioplastic suncatchers that add vibrant colors to your windows with simple materials.

Ingredients

  • Bioplastic sheets
  • Food coloring or plant dyes
  • Baking tray
  • Parchment paper
  • Oven
  • Cookie cutters (various shapes)
  • String or fishing line (for hanging)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Line your baking tray with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  3. Cut shapes from the bioplastic sheets using cookie cutters.
  4. Mix food coloring or plant dyes with a small amount of water, applying it to the surfaces of your shapes.
  5. Place the colored shapes onto the lined baking tray.
  6. Bake in the oven for about 20-30 minutes, monitoring closely until the edges curl and the shapes harden.
  7. Remove the tray from the oven and let the shapes cool completely.
  8. Poke a hole near the top of each suncatcher and thread a piece of string or fishing line for hanging.

Notes

Experiment with different color combinations and natural dyes for unique hues. You can also press small leaves or flowers into the bioplastics before baking for a more natural look.
