Ingredients

  • Bioplastics (like gelatin or cornstarch)
  • Natural materials (flowers, leaves, seeds)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or whisk
  • Suncatcher mold (like cookie cutters or silicone molds)
  • String or wire for hanging

Instructions

  1. Prepare your bioplastic: In a mixing bowl, combine bioplastics with water according to package instructions and heat gently until dissolved.
  2. Add color: Mix in food coloring to achieve desired hue.
  3. Collect natural materials: Gather colorful leaves, petals, and seeds from your garden.
  4. Assemble your suncatcher: Coat the mold with non-stick spray, pour bioplastic into the mold, arrange natural materials, and top with more bioplastic.
  5. Set and dry: Allow mixture to solidify for several hours or overnight and gently remove from the mold.
  6. Add hanging mechanism: Create a loop with string or wire at the top for display.
