Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup white vinegar. Expect a fizzing reaction.
- Slowly stir in 1/4 cup cornstarch until you achieve a thick paste.
- Transfer the mixture to a saucepan over medium heat, and stir constantly until the dough thickens (about 2-3 minutes).
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Dust your work surface with cornstarch and roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes and create holes with a straw for hanging.
- Preheat your oven to 175°F (80°C) and bake the ornaments on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 1-2 hours until dried.
- Once cooled, decorate with paint or markers and thread ribbon or twine through the holes to hang.
