Instructions
- Construct the volcano using clay or dough around the plastic or cardboard cup, ensuring there’s a hole at the top for the eruption.
- Place your volcano on a tray to catch spills, then mix 1 cup of baking soda with a tablespoon of dish soap in a bowl and pour into the cup.
- Add a few drops of food coloring on top of the baking soda mixture.
- Pour 1 cup of vinegar into the cup when ready for the eruption, and enjoy the bubbly, colorful display!
Notes
Experiment with different food coloring combinations for unique effects. This activity can be messy, so cover surfaces with newspaper to protect them.
