Description

A fun and engaging craft recipe for creating beautiful, whimsical trees using baking soda and household ingredients.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Parchment paper or silicone mat
  • Optional: glitter for extra sparkle!

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the baking soda and corn starch.
  2. Slowly pour in the white vinegar and watch the fizzing action.
  3. Mix until you have a thick paste, then add the vegetable oil and combine.
  4. Divide the mixture into smaller bowls and add food coloring to each, mixing until desired shades are achieved.
  5. Shape the colored mixture into tree forms on parchment paper.
  6. Let the trees dry at room temperature for 24-48 hours until firm.

Notes

Use cookie cutters for different tree shapes, swirl colors for a marbled effect, and add glitter for decoration.
