Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- Food coloring (your choice of colors)
- Small toys or gems (hiding treasures)
- Mixing bowl
- Muffin tin or silicone molds
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace by laying out materials on a clean, flat surface and consider using parchment paper on your baking sheet.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with desired food coloring. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
- In a separate bowl, mix 1/2 cup water with 1/2 cup white vinegar, expecting fizzing as the vinegar reacts with the baking soda.
- Gradually pour the vinegar mixture into the bowl with baking soda while stirring, enjoying the bubbling reactions.
- Quickly pack the fizzing mixture into muffin tins or silicone molds, adding small toys or gems into the center.
- Allow the rocks to dry for at least 24 hours on a baking sheet, placing them in a warm area for quicker results.
- Once dry, carefully remove the rocks from the molds and use a hammer to break them apart to reveal hidden treasures!
Notes
