Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup water
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Small, treasure-like items (e.g., plastic gems, coins, or small toys)
- Silicone molds or cupcake liners
- Vinegar (for the reaction)
- Baking tray (for drying)
- Spoon for mixing
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with 1/2 cup of water and stir until achieving a paste-like consistency.
- Divide the paste into separate bowls for multiple colors and add food coloring, mixing until evenly colored.
- Place small treasures into the bottom of silicone molds before adding the baking soda mixture.
- Spoon the colored mixture into the molds, covering the treasures and packing it tightly.
- Let the molds dry overnight on a baking tray at room temperature.
- Once dry, carefully remove the treasure rocks from the molds and enjoy them as decorations or for a treasure hunt!
Notes
Experiment with different shapes and colors, and even add essential oils for a scented twist.
