Description

Create beautiful and colorful crystal trees using baking soda and vinegar. This fun activity combines art and science, perfect for family bonding.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Baking soda
  • 1 cup Vinegar
  • Various colors of Food coloring
  • 1 cup Water
  • Pipe cleaners (in various colors)
  • A bowl or tray for forming the trees
  • A heat-resistant surface (like parchment paper)
  • A spoon or stick for stirring
  • Optional: Glitter for extra sparkle

Instructions

  1. Prepare your pipe cleaners by shaping them into tree forms and twist multiple colors together.
  2. Create the crystal solution by mixing baking soda with vinegar in a bowl and stirring until fizzing subsides.
  3. Add food coloring to the solution for color.
  4. Carefully pour the colorful solution over the shaped pipe cleaners.
  5. Allow the mixture to sit for 24 hours to allow crystals to form.
  6. Once dried, remove the trees and display them in a sunny spot.

Notes
