Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • Food coloring (your choice of colors)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper (optional)
  • Spoon for mixing
  • Toothpick or thin stick for shaping
  • Optional: glitter for extra sparkle

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Clear a flat surface and cover it with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Gather all your materials.
  2. Mix the Baking Soda and Water: In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with 1/2 cup of water. Stir until you achieve a thick paste.
  3. Shape Your Trees: Mold the baking soda paste into tree shapes on your baking sheet.
  4. Add Color: Use a toothpick to create small holes or designs on the trees. Drip food coloring onto the trees.
  5. Activate the Reaction: Drizzle 2 tablespoons of vinegar over the trees and watch them fizz and bubble.
  6. Let Them Dry: Allow your trees to dry for several hours or overnight.

Notes

Experiment with colors and tree shapes for customization, and consider adding glitter for extra sparkle.
