Description

Create beautiful and unique snowflake ornaments using simple materials like baking soda and cornstarch. Perfect for a fun family project!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 3/4 cup water
  • Cookie cutter (snowflake shape)
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Optional: food coloring or glitter for decoration

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine baking soda, cornstarch, and water. Stir on low heat until thickened to dough-like consistency.
  2. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C).
  4. Lay parchment paper on a baking sheet.
  5. Knead the dough on a clean surface until smooth, then roll out to 1/4 inch thickness or pat down with hands.
  6. Use a snowflake cookie cutter to cut shapes from the dough and place them on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 2-3 hours until completely dry and hard to the touch.
  8. Allow to cool completely before handling.
  9. If desired, decorate with paint or glitter and attach a loop for hanging.
