Description

A fun and educational craft that combines creativity with science, allowing you to grow charming baking soda pine trees at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • Green food coloring
  • 5 tablespoons water
  • Cardboard or sturdy paper for the base
  • Bowls for mixing
  • Paintbrush (optional for decoration)
  • Decorative toppings (glitter, sequins, etc. – optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut your cardboard or sturdy paper into a circular or square base for the trees.
  2. In a bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda and 5 tablespoons of water. Stir until it forms a paste-like consistency. Add green food coloring.
  3. Scoop the baking soda paste and mold it into a tree shape on the base. Use fingers for texture and detail.
  4. Gently pour 1/2 cup of vinegar over the tree to activate the chemical reaction and watch it grow.
  5. Allow the trees to dry for several hours or overnight. Decorate as desired.

Notes

You can customize your pine trees with different food coloring and decorations. Use cornstarch instead of baking soda for a different texture.
