Description

Create a fun and educational miniature forest using baking soda and vinegar that grows right before your eyes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar
  • Food coloring (green, brown, and any other preferred colors)
  • 1/4 cup liquid dish soap
  • Muffin tin or shallow dish
  • Small plastic trees or paper cutouts (optional)
  • Container or tray for the display

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base: In a bowl, mix 1 cup of baking soda with 1/4 cup of liquid dish soap. Press the mixture into the muffin tin or shallow dish to form small mounds.
  2. Create the Reaction: In a separate bowl, combine 1/3 cup of vinegar with a few drops of food coloring. Carefully pour the colored vinegar over the baking soda mounds and watch the reaction.
  3. Final Touches: Once the reaction settles, decorate your forest with small plastic trees or paper cutouts and display it on a tray to catch any overflow.

Notes

Experiment with different colors and textures. Consider sealing the forest with clear sealant for longer-lasting results.
