A fun and educational craft project where children can create crystal hearts using baking soda.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1 cup water
- ¼ cup corn syrup
- Food coloring (optional)
- Heart-shaped mold (silicone works best)
- Mixing bowl
- Spoon for mixing
- Paper towel (for cleanup)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda, 1 cup of water, and ¼ cup of corn syrup. Stir until fully combined.
- If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture and stir again.
- Carefully pour the mixture into your heart-shaped mold, filling each cavity to the brim.
- Place the filled molds in a safe spot and leave them untouched for 24 hours to allow the crystals to form.
- After 24 hours, gently remove the heart-shaped crystals from the mold.
Notes
Customize with different colors or shapes. Add glitter for extra sparkle!
