Description

A fun and educational craft project where children can create crystal hearts using baking soda.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup corn syrup
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Heart-shaped mold (silicone works best)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon for mixing
  • Paper towel (for cleanup)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda, 1 cup of water, and ¼ cup of corn syrup. Stir until fully combined.
  2. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture and stir again.
  3. Carefully pour the mixture into your heart-shaped mold, filling each cavity to the brim.
  4. Place the filled molds in a safe spot and leave them untouched for 24 hours to allow the crystals to form.
  5. After 24 hours, gently remove the heart-shaped crystals from the mold.

Notes

Customize with different colors or shapes. Add glitter for extra sparkle!
