Description
A fun and engaging craft that teaches kids about chemistry while making gooey, glowing spider slime perfect for Halloween.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup white school glue
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon contact lens solution (with boric acid)
- Glow-in-the-dark powder or paint
- Black spider decorations (optional)
- Mixing bowl
- Spoon for stirring
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, pour in 1 cup of white school glue.
- Gradually add 1 tablespoon of baking soda while stirring well until fully mixed.
- If using glow-in-the-dark powder, add it now. For paint, mix it in thoroughly until you achieve the desired glow.
- Pour in 1 cup of warm water and mix until the mixture combines well. It will be slightly watery at this stage.
- Slowly add 1 tablespoon of contact lens solution while stirring. The slime will begin to form as you mix.
- Once it forms, use your hands to knead the slime. If it’s too sticky, add a touch more contact lens solution until it reaches your desired texture.
- If using black spiders, you can add them now. Press them into the slime for added fun!
Notes
