Description

Create enchanting Baking Soda Glowing Ghost Jars for a spooky Halloween ambiance with this simple DIY project.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Clear glass jars (any size)
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • Glow-in-the-dark paint (or neon paint)
  • Black construction paper or adhesive vinyl (for ghost faces)
  • LED tea lights (optional)
  • Paintbrush
  • Water
  • Plastic gloves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Clean the jars: Make sure your jars are clean and dry to help the paint adhere better.
  2. Mix baking soda and vinegar: In a bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with 1/2 cup of vinegar. The mixture will fizz!
  3. Pour this mixture into the jar, and let it settle.
  4. Use a paintbrush to apply glow-in-the-dark paint evenly on the jar’s interior surface. Be sure to get into all the corners.
  5. Allow the painted jar to dry completely for the best glow effect.
  6. Cut out face shapes using black construction paper or adhesive vinyl.
  7. Carefully adhere the cutouts to the outside of the jar.
  8. If using, place an LED tea light inside the jar to illuminate your ghost.
  9. Find a spooky spot in your home, and showcase your creations!

Notes

Consider different colors of neon paint for a unique twist. Adding glitter can also enhance the effect.
