Ingredients

- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 3/4 cup water
- Cookie cutters (various shapes)
- Parchment paper
- Baking sheet
- String or ribbon (for hanging)
- LED tea light (optional for glow effect)
- Paint (optional for decoration)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, mix together the baking soda, cornstarch, and water. Stir over medium heat until the mixture thickens, resembling a dough.
- Remove from heat and allow the dough to cool slightly.
- Place the warm dough onto a piece of parchment paper, dust with cornstarch, and roll it out to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes from the rolled dough, making a small hole at the top of each shape for hanging.
- Preheat your oven to 175°F (80°C) and place the shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for about 2-3 hours, until firm and dry.
- Allow the ornaments to cool completely and decorate as desired.
- Thread a piece of string or ribbon through the hole for hanging.
- (Optional) Place an LED tea light underneath the ornament to enhance the glow.
Notes
Experiment with colors and textures for unique ornaments. Store unused dough in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
