Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup baking soda
- ½ cup cornstarch
- ¾ cup water
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- Food coloring (optional)
- Cookie cutters (various shapes)
- Parchment paper
- Oven or air-drying method
- String or ribbon for hanging
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, mix baking soda and cornstarch. Slowly add water and stir to combine. Add white vinegar and enjoy the fizzing!
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir continuously until the mixture thickens and forms a dough-like consistency. Remove from heat once it pulls away from the sides.
- Allow the dough to cool slightly. On a floured surface, roll it to ¼ inch thick and use cookie cutters to create shapes. Poke holes at the top for hanging.
- For the oven method, preheat to 200°F (93°C) and bake for 45-60 minutes. For air drying, place shapes on a cooling rack for 24-48 hours.
- Once dry, thread ribbon or twine through the holes and optionally decorate with glitter.
