Description
Create beautiful and imaginative galaxy-themed ornaments using baking soda and simple ingredients. Perfect for all ages and customizable for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup corn starch
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Mixing bowl
- Spoon or spatula
- Cookie cutters or molds
- Parchment paper
- String or ribbon (for hanging)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine baking soda and corn starch.
- Slowly add white vinegar while stirring the mixture. The mixture will fizz and bubble; this is normal!
- Once the fizzing stops, add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture and mix thoroughly until you achieve your desired color.
- Spoon the mixture into cookie cutters or molds placed on a sheet of parchment paper, pressing down firmly to ensure they hold their shape.
- Allow the shaped ornaments to dry for 24-48 hours, then gently remove them from the molds.
- Use a small drill or a skewer to create a hole at the top of each ornament and thread a piece of string or ribbon through the hole for hanging.
Notes
Experiment with different colors and add glitter for a sparkling finish!
