Description

Craft beautiful galaxy ornaments using simple ingredients like baking soda and vinegar. A fun and engaging DIY project perfect for all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking tray or parchment paper
  • Cookie cutters or molds (optional)
  • Acrylic sealant or Mod Podge (for shine)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the baking soda and cornstarch. Slowly add vinegar to the dry mixture, allowing it to fizz and fluff.
  2. Divide the mixture into smaller bowls and add food coloring to achieve desired shades. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Spoon the colored mixture into cookie cutters or molds on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, pressing firmly to hold shape.
  4. Allow ornaments to dry overnight at room temperature or for 24 hours before gently popping them out of the molds.
  5. For a glossy finish, paint a layer of acrylic sealant or Mod Podge over dried ornaments and let dry completely.

Notes

Customize colors, add glitter for sparkle, or use essential oils for scent. Make small holes for hanging before drying.
