- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 3 tablespoons corn starch
- 1 tablespoon corn syrup
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Mixing bowl
- Cookie cutter (star or planet shapes)
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- Ribbon (for hanging)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with 1/2 cup of white vinegar and watch the fizzing reaction!
- Stir in 3 tablespoons of corn starch and 1 tablespoon of corn syrup until smooth.
- Add food coloring to create galaxy effects and swirl colors for a marbled look.
- Dust a clean surface with cornstarch, roll out the mixture to 1/4 inch thickness, and use a cookie cutter to shape them.
- Place the ornaments on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Allow to air-dry for 24-48 hours, flipping halfway through until firm but slightly soft.
- Thread a ribbon through each ornament for hanging and add optional paint or glitter for sparkle!
