Description

Create enchanting snowmen using baking soda dough for a delightful winter-themed craft that encourages creativity and fine motor skills.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup corn starch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • Acrylic paint (white, black, orange)
  • Optional: Decorative accessories (scarves, buttons, hats)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine baking soda and corn starch.
  2. Gradually add water to the dry ingredients while stirring.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a saucepan over medium heat, stirring continuously.
  4. Keep stirring until the mixture thickens and forms a dough-like consistency—about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  5. Lightly coat your hands with non-stick spray to prevent sticking. Divide the dough into three parts—large, medium, and small—for the body of the snowman. Roll each piece into balls, stacking the largest at the bottom and the smallest at the top.
  6. Once your snowman structure is complete and cool, use acrylic paint to add features. Paint eyes, a nose (using orange for a carrot), and buttons. Get creative with accessories by adding scarves or hats.

Notes

Store leftover dough in an airtight container. Use food coloring for vibrant variations.
