Description

Exciting craft project that combines science and imaginative play by creating baking soda dinosaur eggs that fizz and reveal hidden treasures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Plastic dinosaur toys (small)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Vinegar
  • Mixing bowl
  • Muffin tin or silicone molds
  • Spoon for mixing

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with 1/2 cup of water. Stir until it forms a thick paste.
  2. If you want colorful eggs, add a few drops of food coloring to your mixture. Mix thoroughly to ensure the color is evenly distributed.
  3. Scoop a small portion of the mixture into your hands and place a small dinosaur toy in the center. Mold the mixture around the toy to create an egg shape. Press firmly to ensure it holds together. Place the eggs in a muffin tin or silicone molds to help them keep their shape.
  4. Allow the eggs to dry for at least 24 hours, or until they are hard.
  5. Once the eggs are fully dried, prepare a shallow dish with vinegar. Gently place a baking soda dinosaur egg into the vinegar and watch the fizzing reaction as it “hatches”!

Notes

Customize colors with food dye, add glitter for sparkle, or use different small toys for variation.
