Description

Create fun DIY dinosaur eggs that fizz and dissolve in water, combining science and art for an educational and engaging activity for kids.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 12 tablespoons vinegar (optional, for fizzing effect)
  • Food coloring (optional, for colorful eggs)
  • Small plastic dinosaurs
  • Mixing bowl
  • Muffin tin or egg molds
  • Parchment paper or wax paper

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of cornstarch. Slowly add 1/2 cup of water to the dry mix while stirring until moldable.
  2. Add a few drops of food coloring if desired. Mix until evenly colored. Place small plastic dinosaurs inside portions of the mixture.
  3. Pack the mixture tightly into muffin tins or egg molds, pressing firmly to hold shape.
  4. Let the molded eggs dry for at least 24 hours in a well-ventilated area.
  5. To play, pour vinegar over the eggs in a dish to watch them fizz and dissolve while uncovering the dinosaurs!

Notes

Customize colors and add scents or change textures with ingredient ratios. Keep dried eggs in an airtight container for up to a month.
