A fun and engaging DIY recipe for baking soda dinosaur eggs, perfect for educational playtime and sensory exploration.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup water
- Food coloring (optional)
- Small plastic dinosaur toys (for surprise inside)
- Mixing bowl
- Spoon or whisk
- Mold (silicone molds or egg carton)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the baking soda and cornstarch. Stir well until fully blended.
- In a separate container, mix together the vinegar and water. Optionally, add several drops of food coloring.
- Slowly add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring constantly. Expect a fizzing reaction!
- Press a small amount of mixture into your mold, place a plastic dinosaur toy in the center, and cover it with more mixture.
- Shape the eggs and allow them to dry overnight or for at least 12 hours until hardened.
- Once dry, pop the dinosaur eggs out of the molds and enjoy a fizzy adventure!
Notes
Customize shapes with different molds and experiment with colors for unique designs. Essential oils can be added for a pleasant scent.
