Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup baking soda
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 cup baking soda (for crystal growth)
  • 1 cup water (for crystal growth)
  • Clear glass or plastic containers
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Pipe cleaners or cotton balls (for village structures)
  • String or fishing line (for hanging)
  • A tray or newspaper (to catch spills)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ½ cup of baking soda and ¼ cup of water until you have a thick paste.
  2. Shape the paste into tiny houses, trees, and other village elements.
  3. Place the structures in a clear glass container.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of baking soda with 1 cup of water until dissolved and pour over the village structures.
  5. Allow the containers to sit undisturbed for 24-48 hours to allow crystals to form.
  6. Once the crystals have grown, carefully remove the structures and display your Baking Soda Crystal Village.

Notes

Experiment with different shapes and colors for more personalized creations. Ensure containers are clear for optimal display.
