Description

A delightful project to create your own crystal heart using baking soda, combining fun and education.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Heart-shaped mold or cookie cutter
  • A shallow tray or dish
  • Spoon or stirrer
  • Optional: essential oils for scent

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the baking soda and water. Mix well until there are no lumps, and the mixture has a paste-like consistency.
  2. Slowly pour in the vinegar while continuously stirring. Watch for fizzing as the two ingredients react.
  3. Add a few drops of food coloring and stir until evenly mixed (optional). For a fragrant touch, add essential oils.
  4. Spoon the mixture into your heart-shaped mold or use a cookie cutter on a tray. Press it down firmly to ensure it holds its shape.
  5. Allow the heart to dry and harden for 24-48 hours in a cool, dry place.
  6. Once fully dried, gently remove the heart from the mold and admire the crystalline texture!

Notes

Try different molds, use Epsom salt for varying crystal structures, and experiment with colors and scents.
