Ingredients

- 1 cup baking soda
- 2 cups water
- Clear glass or jar
- Food coloring (optional)
- Spoon for stirring
- Baking sheet or tray
- Small pipe cleaners (optional, for design)
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace by clearing a flat surface and laying down newspaper or a cover.
- In a pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
- Gradually stir in 1 cup of baking soda and watch it bubble and fizz.
- Continue stirring until completely dissolved, resulting in a clear mixture.
- If desired, add food coloring and stir until blended.
- Pour the solution into your clear glass, leaving some space at the top.
- Shape pipe cleaners and submerge them in the solution.
- Place jars on a baking sheet and leave undisturbed in a warm area for 24-48 hours.
- Check daily for crystal formation and color changes.
- Once desired growth is achieved, carefully remove crystals and let them dry on a paper towel.
