Description

Create a beautiful and eco-friendly baking soda Christmas tree that’s perfect for holiday decor or as a unique gift.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Mixing bowl
  • Stirring spoon
  • Wax paper or parchment paper
  • Optional: food coloring, glitter, or decorative embellishments

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda, 1/4 cup of white vinegar, and 1/2 cup of water. Watch the mixture bubble and fizz as the vinegar reacts with the baking soda.
  2. Once the fizzing subsides, add 3 tablespoons of cornstarch.
  3. Stir the mixture over medium heat until it thickens into a dough-like consistency, about 5–10 minutes.
  4. Remove the dough and let it cool slightly until safe to handle. Shape the dough into a cone to form your Christmas tree, mimicking branches and leaves.
  5. Place the shaped tree on wax paper or parchment paper and allow it to dry completely for 24-48 hours.
  6. Once dried, paint your tree or add food coloring to create a colorful effect. Consider adding glitter or small ornaments for a joyful touch.

Notes

Experiment with different sizes and colors for your Christmas trees. Keep them in a cool, dry place to maintain their condition.
