Description

Experience colorful eruptions with this fun and educational DIY activity using baking soda and vinegar.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 tablespoons baking soda
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Container or dish (for eruptions)
  • Tray (to catch spills)
  • Spoon (for mixing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by laying down a tray to catch any overflow and gathering your materials.
  2. Place 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda into your container. Optionally, add a few drops of food coloring.
  3. Slowly pour 1/2 cup of white vinegar over the baking soda and watch the bubbling reaction!
  4. Stand back and enjoy the eruption! Adjust quantities for larger effects if desired.

Notes

For bigger eruptions, layer baking soda and vinegar. Experiment with different food colors and containers.
