Ingredients
- White or colored rice
- Large shallow tray or baking sheet
- Plastic or wooden letter stencils (optional)
- Tweezers or chopsticks (optional)
- Small containers (for organizing colored rice, if using)
Instructions
- Color the rice (optional): Place dry rice in a ziplock bag, add food coloring, and shake until evenly coated. Let it dry completely.
- Pour rice into tray: Spread a thin layer of rice in the tray or baking sheet.
- Let your child use their fingers or tweezers to write letters in the rice.
- Encourage tracing letters and experimenting with shapes as they write.
- Sweep up or vacuum any rice that spills once the activity is done.
Notes
